Vanguard Intermediate-Term Bond ETF (Ticker: BIV) seeks investment results that correspond generally to the performance, before fees and expenses, of the Barclays Capital U.S. 5-10 Year Government/Credit Index. The Index includes U.S. Treasury and agency obligations, as well as investment-grade (rated Baa3 or above by Moody's) corporate and international dollar-denominated bonds, all having maturities of 5 to 10 years. The fund manager samples the Index so that in the aggregate, approximates the full Index in terms of key risk factors and other characteristics. At least 80% of the Fund's assets will be invested in bonds held in the Index. The Fund maintains a dollar-weighted average maturity consistent with that of the Index, which generally ranges between 5 to 10 years.
