The iShares MSCI EMU Index Fund (Ticker: EZU) seeks investment results that correspond generally to the performance, before fees and expenses, of the MSCI EMU Index. The index seeks to measure the performance of the equity markets of the EMU member countries; those members of the European Union who have adopted the Euro as its currency. Member nations include: Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain. Additional countries may join over time. It is also possible that countries withdraw from the EMU. It is a capitalization weighted index that aims to capture 85% of the (publicly available) total market capitalization. Component companies are adjusted for available float and must meet objective criteria for inclusion to the index, taking into consideration unavailable strategic shareholdings and limitations to foreign ownership. MSCI reviews its indexes quarterly. The index uses the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS).
