The Market Vectors Global Alternative Energy ETF (Ticker: GEX) seeks investment results that correspond generally to the performance, before fees and expenses, of the Ardour Global Index (Extra Liquid). The index is a 30 stock, capitalization-weighted, float adjusted index and is balanced quarterly to ensure compliance with the diversification requirements of Subchapter M of the Internal Revenue Code. Stock components include the global universe of listed companies engaged in the alternative energy industry. Alternative energy refers to the generation of power through environmentally friendly, non-traditional sources. It includes power derived principally from biofuels (such as ethanol), bio-mass, wind, solar, hydro and geothermal sources and also includes the various technologies that support the production, use and storage of these sources. Stocks must have a market cap that exceeds $100 million and derive over 50% of total revenues from the global alternative energy industry. The Fund intends to invest at least 30% of its assets in the securities of non-U.S. companies located in at least three different countries.
