The iShares S&P MidCap 400 Index Fund (Ticker: IJH) seeks investment results that correspond generally to the performance, before fees and expenses, of the S&P MidCap 400 Index. The index covers approximately 7% of the tradable U.S. equity market. The index is maintained by the S&P Index Committee, a team of Standard & Poor's economists and index analysts, who meet on a regular basis. The goal of the Index Committee is to ensure that the index remains an accurate measure of mid sized companies, reflecting the risk and return characteristics of the broader mid cap universe on an on-going basis. Constituents of the S&P MidCap 400 have a market capitalization between $1.5 billion and of $5.5 billion and are selected for liquidity and industry group representation. New additions to the index must have four consecutive quarters of positive earnings.
