The iShares Dow Jones U.S. Real Estate Index Fund (Ticker: IYR) seeks investment results that correspond generally to the performance, before fees and expenses, to the performance of the Dow Jones U.S. Real Estate Index. The index measures the performance of the Real Estate industry of the U.S. equity market, including real estate holding and developing and real estate investment trusts (REITs) subsectors. The index is a subset of the Dow Jones U.S. Total Market Index and is capitalization weighted. Component companies are adjusted for available float and must meet objective criteria for inclusion in the index. Reconstitution is quarterly. Dow Jones Industry Indexes are constructed by categorizing the component stocks of the Dow Jones U.S. Total Market Index into the 10 Industries, 18 Supersectors, 39 Sectors and 104 Subsectors of the Industry Classification Benchmark (ICB). A separate index is maintained for each group at each of the four levels.
