The Market Vectors Solar Energy ETF (Ticker: KWT) seeks investment results that correspond generally to the performance, before fees and expenses, of the Ardour Solar Energy Index. The index is a compilation of global solar energy stocks that are principally engaged in the business of producing solar energy. The comprises public companies in three primary solar energy sectors: a) Photovoltaics, b) Solar Thermal, and c) Solar Lighting. A principally engaged company must derive 66% or more of its annual revenues from its participation in the solar energy sector. On a weighted basis, the index derives well in excess of 90% of its revenues from the solar industry. The index includes approx. 27 stocks and employs a modified float-adjusted market capitalization weighting methodology. The weight of any individual stock is capped at 10% and the combined weight of all stocks with weights over 5% is capped at 40%. The index is rebalanced quarterly. The index is heavily weighted in Germany, China and Norway.
