The Vanguard Dividend Appreciation ETF (Ticker: VIG) seeks investment results that correspond generally to the performance, before fees and expenses, of the Dividend Achievers Select Index. The index is designed to track the performance of US companies that have a history of annual cash dividends increases. Constituents are reviewed annually. Eligible companies are incorporated in the United States or its territories, trade on the NYSE, NASDAQ or AMEX, and have increased its annual regular dividend payments for the last 10 or more consecutive years In addition to dividend screens, Mergent applies additional screening criteria to ensure each companies liquidity and investibility. The result is an index of approximately 200 companies. Index constituents are allocated using a modified market capitalization weighting methodology. Individual issuers are capped at 4% at each annual reconstitution.
