SAN DIEGO (ETFguide.com) – Jefferies along with ALPS Distributors has just launched a new energy ETF that focuses on the mid and small cap stocks.

The Jefferies TR/J CRB Wildcatters Energy & Production Equity ETF (NYSEArca: WCAT) provides exposure to stocks of U.S. and Canadian listed companies engaged in the production and distribution of oil and natural gas sectors. WCAT currently contains 55 stocks within its portfolio and its top three holdings are Encore Acquisition, Forest Oil Corp., and Atlas Energy.

WCAT’s underlying index uses a modified market capitalization weighting strategy and holdings are rebalanced on a quarterly basis.
