UBS Launches 2 New ETNs Linked to Commodities

UBS announced the launch of two new exchange-traded notes (ETNs) which track exposure to oil futures and natural gas futures prices.


The new ETNs are based on two new Indexes that were recently launched by the International Securities Exchange (ISE).

"Our new partnership with UBS and the launch of two ETNs based on ISE's strategy-based futures indexes mark significant achievements for our index business," said Kris Monaco, Head of New Product Development at ISE. "We are excited to collaborate with UBS to meet the growing marketplace demand for exchange-traded investment vehicles that provide investors with exposure to sophisticated packaged investment strategies."

The new ETNs, along with their corresponding ticker symbols are:

The ETRACS Oil Futures Contango ETN (NYSEArca: OILZ)
The ETRACS Natural Gas Futures Contango ETN (NYSEArca: GASZ)

The annual expense ratio for each note is 0.85%.

The new ISE Indexes are:

The ISE Oil Futures Spread Index
The ISE Natural Gas Futures Spread Index

WisdomTree announced name changes being made to seven of their equity ETFs. The name changes, along with their corresponding ticker symbols are:

Previous Name: WisdomTree Pacific ex-Japan Total Dividend Fund (NYSEArca: DND)
New Name and Ticker: WisdomTree Asia-Pacific ex-Japan Fund (NYSEArca: AXJL)

AXJL now includes large cap dividend-paying companies in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.

Previous Name: WisdomTree Pacific ex-Japan Equity Income Fund (NYSEArca: DNH)
New Name and Ticker: WisdomTree Australia Dividend Fund (NYSEArca: AUSE)

AUSE tracks the WisdomTree Australia Dividend Index and focuses exclusively on dividend-paying companies in Australia. 

Previous Name: WisdomTree International Basic Materials Sector Fund (NYSEArca: DBN)
New Name and Ticker: WisdomTree Commodity Country Equity Fund (NYSEArca: CCXE)

CCXE tracks dividend-paying companies ranked by market capitalization from each of the following commodity countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, New Zealand, Norway, Russia and South Africa.

Previous Name: WisdomTree International Energy Sector Fund (NYSEArca: DKA)
New Name and Ticker: WisdomTree Global Natural Resources Fund (NYSEArca: GNAT)

GNAT tracks global dividend-paying companies that are involved in the production of energy and natural rescources, including oil and gas producers, basic materials companies, such as metal and mining companies, and agriculture companies.

Previous Name: WisdomTree International Utilities Sector Fund (NYSEArca: DBU)
New Name: WisdomTree Global ex-US Utility Fund (NYSEArca: DBU)

DBU has broadened exposure to global utilities companies from developed and emerging markets outside of the US.

Previous Name: WisdomTree International Real Estate Fund (NYSEArca: DRW)
New Name: WisdomTree Global ex-US Real Estate Fund (NYSEArca: DRW)

DRW has broadened exposure to global real estate companies from developed and emerging markets outside of the US.

Previous Name: WisdomTree World ex-US Growth Fund (NYSEArca: DNL)
New Name: WisdomTree Global ex-US Growth Fund (NYSEArca: DNL)

DNL follows the same Index and there are no additional changes to the fund.
